Volcano Coffee comes to you fresh from Raetihi, midway between the magnificent Mt Ruapehu and breath-taking Whanganui River.

If you’re up for some skiing or snow-boarding, Raetihi is a convenient base for a mountain adventure on some of New Zealand’s best ski slopes. It’s an easy 45 minute drive to Whakapapa skifield, and Turoa is even closer at only 30 minutes.

‘The Rhine of the South” was what the mighty Whanganui river was called back in the 19th century. Tourists came from the other side of the world to travel the river and explore it’s beauty. Today Jet boat operators run trips up to the Bridge to Nowhere, and most of the three and five day canoeists exit the river before stopping for their Volcano Coffee on the way through Raetihi.
